    Legal battle in court Tuesday: Social media’s role in Buffalo Tops shooting

      ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A number of the victims families in the 2022 Buffalo Tops Market mass shooting are taking on social media giants. This, in two civil lawsuits filed in 2023. Which brings us to Tuesday, oral arguments took place all afternoon at the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Dept. 4 in Downtown Rochester.

      The companies are trying to dismiss wrong death lawsuits filed on behalf of some of the families in the 2022 racially motivated mass shooting at Tops in Buffalo.

      A great portion of these lawsuits surrounds the role social media may have played in the tragedy.
