PLCAA
The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) is a federal law that shields bad actors in the gun industry from legal accountability for dangerous products and irresponsible business practices that threaten public safety. PLCAA gives manufacturers, importers, distributors, and dealers of firearms and ammunition special protections from civil liability that are not afforded to any other industry, preventing people injured by guns from holding them accountable for misconduct in court. Everytown Law is leading the way in a wide range of lawsuits piercing the gun industry’s immunity shield and holding accountable reckless and irresponsible actors in the gun industry.
